Zoya Polish Spam...

I wanted to make this quick. I haven't been feeling well at all, but I need something to distract myself. Here are the 3 Free Zoya's my Mom got. I think they came on Monday. She even got my namesake Katie. Well, they spell it Katy but that's neither here nor there haha.

So here are Katy, Gigi, and Luna.

Pretty. =)

I really want to get Zoya's Gemma from the new Spring Collection. I'm generally not a green polish wearer because it makes my hands look really red depending on the shade, but Gemma is just gorgeous!

It seems like I've gotten a lot of polish in the past week. I don't know what to wear. My nails are naked, but I haven't been up for painting them anyway...

OPI's Katy Perry Collection- Bottle Shots and Swatches!

Most people don't know but I'm a big Katy Perry fan. She's beautiful and I like her style. Plus she always has her nails on point. Haha.

As soon as I realized the her new OPI collaboration collection was out online, everything was sold out but the Shatter polish. So I made a trip to Ulta. They had nothing out. On Sunday my friend Kendal let me know the Ulta had finally put out the collection. When I went in on Monday they had everything but Shatter. I was told they would get more in soon, but everyone was clamoring for it. They even told me the employees were scooping it up. (Mini Rant: I understand that employees have the right to buy things, but in my opinion they shouldn't be allowed to grab up everything from the first shipment. That's total BS.)

Some of the displays via my camera phone:

One of several empty displays.

So what did I pick up? I got the mini bottles set, and I got regular size bottles of Teenage Dream and Not Like the Movies. Hopefully I'll find the highly coveted Shatter eventually.

Ooh, I love the sparkle in Teenage Dream.

Hopefully I'll get to swatch these soon. I'm not much of a swatcher. I'm more of a full mani kind of gal. Haha. But if I get around to swatches I'll add them to this post!

EDIT: I finally swatched the collection. So here they are. (Minus Shatter)

2 coats.

Teenage Dream- 3 coats. Pink base with various size glitter. Hexagon glitter is holographic.
Not Like the Movies- 3 coats. This is one of those oil slick kind of colors.  Pinks, greens and gray flashes along with some silver glitter sparkle.
The One That Got Away- 3 coats. I could have gotten away with 2. It's a berry with lovely glass-flecking.
Last Friday Night-  3 coats. Blue based sheer with various sizes of glitter and possible flakies. Good layering polish.

I must say I really like them all. Last Friday Night is obviously very sheer. I think a possible dupe for this may be a Sinful Colors Hottie. Otherwise I'm loving the other colors and will probably go back for a full size bottle of The One that Got Away.

Did you pick anything up from this collection?

Barielle Jess' Champagne Toast and Something Extra...

So I wore this for a little under a week. Let me tell you it's absolutely gorgeous in the bottle! On the nail it's pretty, but falls a bit flat. It's an icy blueish/lavender color with pink glitter. It's biggest downfall once applied it it's very gritty and the pink glitter/shimmer doesn't really shine. I mean you can catch a bit of glimmer but the polish kind of soaks it up. That made me sad because I loved it for the pink glitter.

Anyhow this was 2 coats.

Then a couple of day's later I stumbled upon Cover Girl's Amethyst Mist. It's a sheer purple base with silver glitter and larger holographic/opalescent hexagon glitter. It look like it would go nicely over JCT.

I liked it. The silver glitter disbursed on the nail just fine, however the hexagon glitter was a pain in the butt. It was hard to get any on the brush no matter how much I loaded it up. I managed though. It dried fairly quickly so that was a plus.

So the main focus was on my right thumb. I think you can see the hexagon glitter the best here. I also got he most on that thumb haha!

So there you have it. My manicure from the past week. My nails are naked and short right now, and I have no clue what to paint them. I was going to do it earlier in the day, but I just felt icky. Oh well.

Mini Polish Haul

I still have photos to edit for other posts, but I just haven't been in the mood to do it. I had been so busy that I just feel wiped out. So instead of no posts I figured I would post a collective photo of what polishes I've gotten in the last couple of weeks.

I actually went into Sally's for the first time in month's it seems like to check for anything new, none of it struck my fancy. I grabbed a few polished from the discount area though, and I did get the nail files and buffers I went for in the first place. I also made a quick trip to Ulta. They hadn't put anything new out. I was really hoping that the Katy Perry Collection would be there, but no dice.

I also made my first trip to Whole Foods. I heard some of them were carrying Zoya polish and I had to check. Again no dice, but I did eat a lot of samples of expensive free cheese.

All of this happened on Friday, and I just haven't been feeling well today.

And now I bring you a picture of my mini haul.

Thanks for reading, and I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

Zoya's Jade and Some Babble...

Hello everyone! I feel like I haven't posted in so long. It was a busy weekend for me. As I said last post I was the Second Shooter at a Wedding on Saturday. I was on my feet for a solid 4 1/2 hours. It was lots of fun and beautiful all around.

I decided to wear Zoya's Jade for the weekend. I love a good sparkly red. Red is one of my go to colors in times of doubt. Zoya describes Jade as "Bright red glitter in a translucent crimson red base." Its really beautiful. I did 2 coats. I probably could have done 3 as there was a bit of VNL. If my nails had been shorter it wouldn't have been a problem, actually it wasn't a problem anyway haha.

So here is the beauty that is Jade:

I feel like I didn't take enough adequate shots of this beauty. There just wasn't enough time.

And here is a random shot of me photographing something at the venue. You can see my thumb clad in Jade. Haha.

After the full day of Wedding Shooting, the following day we traveled to see a dear friend's new baby girl. Goodness she was adorable, and how I love that new baby smell. It will be fun to watch her grow up.

My body was in a considerable amount of pain after being so active. (Mind you I have fibromyalgia, among other issues.) So I rested up on Monday. Then I had an Eye Doctor Appt. on Tuesday. Come to find out my distant vision has gotten worse, and I needed a new prescription. I also got stuff for my dry eye which I was excited about. Anyhow, I picked new frames and they are super cute. So in 7 to 10 days I'll show them off. Hehe.

Thanks for reading everyone, and I'd like to extend a warm welcome to any new followers!

Not long after that I got 1st and 2nd degree burns in a tv dinner accident in my dorm covering most of my right arm (I'm a righty). I was useless in my art class. Our teacher designated him as my helper and the rest is history.

2. I have 1 tattoo that I got well over a year ago, and it's in need of a touch up. I want more. I have several ideas, but I'm not sure where I want them.

3. I've had a total of 7 of dogs in my life. 2 have passed, and we currently have 5. I love them all so much. My first dog was my best friend and my muse.

Zoya's Harley

I had been lemming this color for quite some time. I adore gray, and this one looked special. Once I got a spoon of it I knew it would be mine. I picked Harley as part of my 3 Free during the promotion.

I decided to wear it first out of the 3 I had picked because I just loved it so. Zoya's website describes it as "Light concrete gray base with subtle flecks of silver, gold and copper shimmer." The darker gray and copper flecks of shimmer are what stood out to me most. It makes this gray unique.

I put this on last Thursday evening (1/6/11) I decided to do a wear test since I had also bought Anchor and Armor. The formula on Harley is wonderful. So easy to apply. I only used 2 coats, and of course a coat of Anchor and Armor.

Here are the pictures (I'll caption them by day.)

The first three photos are from the first day. (Thursday)
Sunday 1/9/11 (Left hand)
Sunday 1/9/11 (Right Hand) At this point I had gone to a Music Video Shoot, went shopping and tried on lots of pants etc...
Monday 1/10/11 I had my first chip on my left thumb. I'm not really sure when it happened. Otherwise very minimal tip wear.
Tuesday 1/11/11 Still very minimal tip wear and the chip on my thumb got a bit bigger. It snowed Sunday night through Monday and I had done lots of playing in the snow etc. at this point.
Wednesday 1/12/11 - Thumb chip a bit bigger and tip wear a bit more noticeable.

So my verdict: This is an awesome polish and the length of time I went without a single chip was amazing! I'm very pleased with Anchor and Armor. They've done a fantastic job. I'm really happy I decided to purchase them. You can bet more times than not that's what I'll be using!

I'll be taking off this polish today and switching to something different. I'll be the Second Shooter AKA Photographer at a wedding this weekend and I'll be wearing all black. I think I may pop it with some red a la Zoya's Jade. We'll see.

I hope this has been a helpful post. Have you tried Anchor and Armor? Do you want to?

Zoya Intimate Spring 2011 Collection Spoons!

I received the Intimate Spring Collection 2011 spoons last week. I know many others are probably getting these as well. No harm in posting them though just in case you don't have them. There are some pretty colors in this collection.

From top to bottom: Gemma, Jules, Dannii, Caitlin, Dove, and Marley

I love the blue flash in Gemma. I also love Caitlin, but I love blues in general! Overall this collection looks like a win for me. A little something for everyone.

*Disregard those stray dog hairs in the first picture. Hey with 5 dogs around it's bound to happen. Hehe.

Zoya's 3 Free-What I got.

So, by now everyone knows Zoya had their 3 free promotion for hitting 20,000 likes on Facebook. Last week they put out a code so you could get your pick of 3 polishes. Zoya had a lot of traffic to the site which I know caused issues for many. It's expected in promotions like this though. I for one am grateful to Zoya for doing wonderful things like this. I was lucky and got my order in without issue and it came within 2 days.

Last Thursday I opened my box of pretties. (I know I should have had this up sooner.) I had also ordered part of the color lock system- Anchor and Armor.

So I'm sure you are ready to see what I got. Well, here they are:

Kotori, Harley, and Jade. Such wonderful colors.

And here is a sneek peek of an up coming post about Harley:

So what Zoya's did you pick up?

Revlon Twitter Contest Win

Back in November Revlon had a contest on Twitter to win the new Fire and Ice Collection. I can't recall what you had to do exactly, but you had to be one of the first 500 people to do it. So of course I did what was required. The next day I had a DM in my inbox saying I had won.

Last week I finally received what I had won. It was rather funny because it was in a pile of orders on my front porch. I was pretty excited. No special packaging or anything, just the 4 polishes and lipsticks. Woo hoo!

Here we have Demure (polish and lipstick), Temptress (polish and lipstick), Siren (polish and lipstick), and All Fired up and Fire and Ice lipstick. The Fire and Ice line was first created in 1952 and brought back in 2010. You can find more about it here.

Can't wait to try these out!

In other news I've got several major posts lined up: 3 free Zoya's that I received last week, my Revlon Contest Win, and the music video I was an extra in. It's been a fun filled couple of days. So lookout for those posts!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Goddess- Urban Decay Loose Pigment

I decided to sign up for Hautelook when they were having their $2 Urban Decay sale. Of course by then most of the things I wanted were sold out. I held out a little longer because I wanted to get some Muk Luks they were advertising, and only wanted to make 1 order. I ended up getting 1 of the Urban Decay Loose Pigments in Goddess.

UD labels Goddess as a midnight blue with electric blue microglitter. Honestly the pigment looks more black to me. I've noticed others have said that too. The glitter seems to shine and shimmer all the colors of the rainbow though. I noticed some fall out just doing the swatches, but the pigmentation is great. I'm glad I was able to pick this up for $2, as they regularly go for $20. And to be honest I wouldn't have bought them at the $20 price tag.

On to the pictures:

This was a swipe back and forth straight out of the bottle.
I then lightly swiped the pigment left beside the first swatch.

Sparkle.
And here is a cute shot of on of my pups sniffing out the goods. Haha.

Hope this helps anyone who maybe be looking into getting one of the UD Loose Pigments. I also would highly recommend signing up for Hautelook (it's free) so you can partake in some great deals. Click here to use my link if you would like to check it out or sign up.
