Hautelook

I just recently started using the website Hautelook. It's a website that brings you great deals by top brands. You just have to sign up. And of course it's free!

A blogger friend turned me on to this website, and I'm glad she did.

I recently bought some Muk Luk Boots, Urban Decay pigments, and an AA Scarf. Everything was 50% off which was awesome. Once everything get's here I'll do my best to do a proper review.

Anyhow if you're a deal shopper this is a pretty great website. Check it out by clicking the link below.

My Winter Wonderland!

It happened. It finally happened. It snowed on Christmas for the first time in my life. How amazing, and beautiful. I hope everyone had a joyous day. It was nice, and of course the snow that came made it perfect.

Today I played in the snow with my dogs and Dad while everyone else stayed in. I took tons of pictures on my new DSLR. It was fun, cold and fun!

So here is my Christmas manicure. Plan and simple Ruby Deer by China Glaze. Nice in two coats. Had some balding from my top coat, but it was no biggie. The last 3 photos are the most true to life.

Now on to some snow pictures.

Jumping to catch snow in her mouth. Gosh she's so cute!

So there are a few pictures. I wish I could add them all. So many cute ones that's for sure!

Thank You Zoya!

I participated in a Zoya Twitter Contest on December 20th. I kind of forgot about it until I got on Twitter the next day. I noticed a tweet from Zoya that I had won a free bottle of polish and Mini Remove along with two other Zoya fans. I was so excited!

To make it even better I received my package on Christmas Eve. I can't believe how quickly it came. What a great Christmas present.

Thank you Zoya, y'all rock!

Here's what I got. A mini bottle of Remove, and Crystal Polish.

(P.S. I took this with my new DSLR camera. Yay!)

Thanks for reading, and again Merry Christmas!

Let's Party Hearty!

Umm corny title...

Haha. I've got a Christmas party going on, on my nails. I decided to use Frosty and Party Hearty and do a cute manicure. (If you follow me on Twitter I posted a quick picture of it.) Similar to what most people have seen I'm sure. I really love it though. I'm not sure if it will last all the way to Christmas, but we'll see.
I used 2 coats of Frosty and 2 coats of Party Hearty on top of that. I noticed I had a bit of tip shrinkage obviously happened when I put on my top coat. No biggie though.
I really like how Frosty applies. Great formula. And of course Party Hearty was pretty easy to apply. I really like the 2 sizes of hexagon glitter paired with the smaller square glitter.
Now on to the pictures.

Pretty stuff. Hehe.

I can't believe it's almost Christmas. We just got our tree up today. I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays!

Thanks for stopping by.

Mrs. Claus, Sparkles.

I cut my nails shorter again, and I was ready for something festive so I pulled out Mrs. Claus from the China Glaze China Glaze 'Tis The Season To Be Naughty And Nice Holiday Collection. When I put it on it made me instantly happy. I loved the pink sparkle.
My Mom and my Neurologist commented on how festive and sparkly my nails were. Win!
This polish is great in my humble opinion.  It's a pink jelly with pink and silver glitter. I had an easy time with application. I used 2 coats over 2 coats of Nail Tek Foundation then Poshe top coat. It did chip once on my index finger because I snagged it on something in the a store. I fixed it though. Haha.
I photographed my nails yesterday but the lighting just wasn't right. So I braved the cold this morning and got some good shots. My dog thought I was crazy I think.
On to the pretty sparkle:

Haha there's part of my doggie in the background.

(Quick health update: My neurologist thinks I have Fibromyalgia. I'll be having an MRI and some other tests done soon to make sure other thinks are ok. Saying a prayer for wellness and good outcomes.)

Sparkle Overload?

I've got so much polish yet I can't figure out what to wear. Don't you hate that? It drives me crazy. I put polish on then swipe it off over and over.

I grabbed my unopened bottle of Hard Candy's Wicked. I put it on and I really liked it. Then I thought hmm let's add more sparkle. So I added 2 coats of OPI's Sparkleicious. Sparkle overload. Well sort of haha. I'm not sure I'm really in love with it though. As much as I love the polishes on their own I'm not sure I'm feeling them together at the moment. Any other time I would love the combo I'm sure, but I feel like I'm missing something. Ahh don't you hate that too? All I know is that it will be a pain in the arse to take take off lol.

*I wrote all of that last night right after my I did my manicure. I must say it started to grow on me today. It also wore like a champ. We were cleaning my parents living room and moving in a new couch and love seat. I also gave 2 of our dogs baths. So I'm pleased.

Ok, enough rambling. On to the pictures.

Wow my nails have gotten long. I'm not sure how I feel about them long since I usually keep them short. Haha.

OPI Tease-y Does It

I picked up OPI's Tease-y Does It from the Burlesque Collection recently. I had only planned on getting a glitter or two, but once I saw swatches of Tease-y I wanted it. It's such a nice vampy color, that seems lit from with-in. The bottle gives off a slight duo-chrome look. It ranges from amber's to red's. The base is a deep plum, with maybe a hint of brown. Don't quote me on that though.
It's really a beauty. I decided to use it for my Thanksgiving manicure.
This mani starts off with a base of OPI Chip Skip, Nail Tek Foundation Xtra, 2 coats of Tease-y, and 1 coat of Poshe Fast Drying Top Coat. The dry time was fantastic on this polish! Its worn very well thus far too. I'm really enjoying it since I haven't been painting my nails as much lately. I believe this is a must have from the Burlesque Collection!
It was hard to capture that lit form with-in sparkle when I took pictures, as it was overcast out. There is a lot more sparkle on the nail than what you see in the pictures. The bottle shots turned out well though I think. I did take an indoor shot too.
On to the photos!

My FIRST Polish Haul Video!

I decided to do a mini haul video of what I've accumulated in the past couple of months. Since I've had a harder time keeping up with painting my nails and photographing because of my health, I figured a quick haul video could work. That way I can show y'all what I got, and maybe you'll see it on my nails in the future hehe.

Like I said it's the first video I've ever made so be kind. It was also my first time editing a video too haha. I hope it's ok, and everyone enjoys it/my rambling. lol.

My Love for Dogeared Jewelry

I made my first order with Dogeared Jewelry back in December of 2009. I found out about them via blogger Lollipop26. She raved about them, so I had to check them out.
I believe I blogged about my first purchase. I got the Sterling Silver Love Heals Necklace (with kind heart and teeny angel wings), and Grace Teeny Stud Sterling Silver Angel Wing Earrings (I wore these most of baseball season I believe.) I loved my jewelry so much I went back for more. I then got Light as a Feather Small Sterling Silver Feather Necklace (which I also wore during baseball season, luck I suppose), and Love Flat Heart Stud Sterling Silver Earrings. I got my Mom her Mother's Day present from them too, the Mom's are Angels Sterling Silver Necklace with Angel Wings, and she loved it. Later I decided I wanted a new simple bracelet and got the Keep it Simple Gold Stardust Bead Bracelet on a sterling silver chain. It's a perfect delicate and functional bracelet!
I made my most recent purchase when they were having a special to celebrate their 4th Birthday, and you would receive a gift with your order. I ordered the I am Healthy and My Body is Strong Make A Wish Sterling Silver Angel Wings (on ocean silk) Necklace. I felt like this was a good reminder to help me get through the tough times I've been having. When my package came today I was surprised with the beautiful free Birthday gift. A Make A Wish necklace with a star charm. It's gold and it's beautiful. Such a cool way to celebrate their company's Birthday.
Now I'm not trying to throw my purchases in your face. I just wanted to share with you all what I've ordered in the past year and how much I enjoy wearing their jewelry.  They have such a variety to match your mood/personality. It's fun and I always find something to put on my Wish List.
(If you want to check them out go here: http://www.dogeared.com/)

Now on to some pictures. I even got my dog in on the act. Hehe.

Here is the free Happy 4th Bday Gift. So pretty.
Here's my sweet little guy rocking the necklace. Cute right!

Here is the necklace I purchased. Great message for me.

Me wearing the necklace sans make-up. Don't be cruel. lol.

All the purchases I've made have great meaning behind them and have special significance in my life. It's nice to have jewelry like that. I love the presentation and packing that everything comes in as well. I've never had a problem with shipping, it's usually very quick. Dogeared Jewels & Gifts get a giant thumbs up from me. I hope you check it out if you get the chance.

Thank you for reading!

(All item purchased by me. I was not asked to post this. Just showing appreciation for a company I like.)

RBL Plie

I picked up RBL's Plie during their big sale. It thought it would be a nice neutral pinky color. Perfect for when I want to keep my nails low key.

I had numerous problems with application (some being user error). Due to my health issues I've gotten incredibly shaky and that didn't help. In all honesty I don't think the polish agreed with my Seche Rebuild base either. Once I was done I ended up banging up 2 of the same nails over and over and having to redo them. (Don't you hate that??)  I was rushing, and it seemed like the polish just didn't want to dry. Ugh. (I was rushing because I was going to see Lady Antebellum last night and had to get ready.) Once it was dry everything seemed ok, and I just continued doing what I needed to do. I ended up chipping one nail last night opening a CD. Then I had another rouge chip on my ring finger. I also noticed numerous amounts of bubbling, which was probably my fault for rushing.
Anyhow the polish is very pretty. I blends with my skin tone nicely. It was that neutral pink I'd been looking for. I think when I have more time and patience I will have a better experience with this polish.

Now here are the pictures.

(Indoor shot in front of a paw print painting my dog Baron made.)

I still have a handful of RBL's to try, as well as a bunch of other polishes I've gotten and have yet to use. Now I'm eyeballing all the new collections for Christmas, as well as the Burlesque Collection by OPI.

Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day, and I wanted to take the time to say thank you to all those who served, and are currently serving. You are appreciated, and do what many could never do. Thank you for fighting for our freedom!

Here are a few special Military Men in my life.

This is my Grandpa. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a Gunner on the U.S.S Essex. Handsome right? Hehe. He passed away several years before I was born, but thankfully through all the stories, photos, and letters I got to know him. I wish he could still be here, I know he would have been an awesome Grandpa!

Now this is an old picture, but one of the only pictures I have with my friend Derek. We grew up together, as time went by he ended up being my best friend/big brother. He took care of me, consoled me when I was sad, and was just there for me. Heck when I tore the ligaments in my ankle in High School he would carry me up the stairs. He surprise visited me in college too. That's a good big bro!
He is in the Military. He's currently on his 3rd Tour of Iraq. He's one of those people who was born to serve. I haven't seen him in a long time, but I love him very much and pray for his safe return.

In closing God Bless, and Thank you!

My RBL Order has Arrived!

Very excited to say my first RBL polishes have arrived. I can't wait to start using them. They are just as beautiful as I thought they would be. Even my Dad thought a couple of them were cool. Then he told me I had a lot of polish and needed a new way to store it. LOL! I couldn't agree more. He's so accepting of my nail polish addiction.
Here is a picture of what I ordered. Not the best shot since I didn't have great lighting, but hey there they are. (Scrangie, Square Pants, Plie, Black Russian, and Under The Stars)

Thanks for looking!

Check out the GE Ecomagination Photo Project

I thought this was interesting and worth blogging about. The GE Ecomagination Photo Project allows you to upload photos representing Wind, Light, and Water, by doing so you will help build fresh water wells, donate solar powered lanterns, and build small-scale wind turbines for areas in need.

I uploaded a handful of photos for this, and if you can too that would be really cool. It's a great cause.

Here are a couple of the photos I uploaded:

Water
(Both photos were taken and edited by me.)

Now if you would like to check it out or enter you can go to the following places:
