Choo-Choo Choose You

Long time no blog. I left the blog quietly after the loss of my sweet Labrador. I had to start focusing on other things as life became stressful and difficult during that time. I got back to work shooting South Carolina Baseball. My saving grace. I added a new pup to the family. There was a fun trip to Disney World to break that up in April. I ended the regular season working in Nashville. BEST TRIP EVER! I saw our team fall short of their goals and not get out of their home Regional. That was the longest day of work, and it was so heartbreaking. I celebrated my Birthday, dealt with a very personal loss, celebrated more Birthdays, and had many a beach trip. I'm currently covering fall baseball for the Gamecocks, and local youth sports. And that is a very short summary of the last 8 months. Wow, 8 months...where does time go.

So in my comeback here is a chameleon of a color China Glaze's Choo-Choo Choose You. It has a murky blue base and the color shifts from bronze to pink to greenish gold. It's difficult to describe, but I tried my best to capture it in photos.

Wintermint

While I was on the hunt for the remaining NOPI Carrie Underwood polishes (no luck), I happened upon the newer scented Revlon polishes. I'm generally not one for scented polishes because I'm quite sensitive to smell, but I decided to give one a try.
I grabbed Wintermint because I love mint and it was the most intriguing color. It was sheer on the first coat but finished off nicely with the second coat. Once it dried it had a lovely mint scent that wasn't overpowering. I polished Saturday night and as of today I can no longer smell the scent. I'm ok with that though. As for color it's lovely mint green with aqua hex glitter and smaller gold glitter that seems to shift in color.

How do you feel about this polish or just scented polish in general?

Miami Beet

I've been gravitating towards pretty raspberry colors for fall. They are my favorite. Thus Miami Beet and I were a perfect fit. Why had I never noticed this wonderful polish?

I've worn it with regular top coat, and then decided I needed to try it mattified. Matte polish seems to be making a bit of a comeback this fall. I whipped out my NYC Matte Me Crazy, and loved the results.

Indoor lighting.

Natural Light.

And here's a bonus shot of it in it's regular state.

Between this and Zoya's Paloma I think I have my perfect for me raspberries. Funny my collection of raspberry polish is quite small. Considering my love affair with the color I'm surprised by this haha.

Nail fun.

I've had my Halloween mani on for about 4 days. It was holding up wonderfully, but I wanted to change it up.

First off I tried out the marbling technique. I've never done it before and this is what I came up with.
Pinky finger- CG Lubu Heels, Essie's Bordeaux, CC Oooooo La La
Ring Finger- CC Oooooo La La, CG OMG
Middle Finger- CG Shocking Pink, CC Oooooo La La
Index Finger- Hard Candy The End, CC Oooooo La La
Thumb- CG Lubu Heels, CC Oooooo La La

Not the greatest picture quality, but you get the idea.

Now, for my current mani. I used Orly's Goth as a base, I then layerd CG's Lubu Heels over that, and then a layer of CC's Art of Seduction for extra sparkle. Top coated with Barielle Ultra Speed Dry Manicure extender.

Enjoy!

You should be a manicurist...

I feel like it's been ages since I posted. It's been quite a fun filled weekend. On Friday I went to the local zoo with family and had a blast. We took a trip to the mall and I was approached by a woman who thought my mani and pedi was fab. She was a manicurist and said that I should think about doing it because my nails looked so great. So nice! She works at a salon called All About Me in Hilton Head, SC. So time to plug them hehe. Here is there website. http://www.allaboutmehhi.com/about2.html

Check them out if you are ever in Hilton Head and get your nails did!

I popped into Sally's today and grabbed CG's Lubu Heels, which I had been eying for quite a while. I also go Orly's Goth. It's hard for me to resist black polishes!

As soon as I got home I got my nails ready and tried out Lubu Heels. It's an extremely sheer polish so I used a base coat of black polish and then layered the LH over it. It turned out great. I'm loving the colors and think this will be my Halloween mani. It should go well with my Gaga outfit.

Also the SC State Fair has ended it's run this year and I picked up my art piece that was on display. It's now for sale on my website for $100. Email me for details.

And now I leave you with cute zoo pictures of myself and my 10 year old cousin.

Be on the lookout this week for some Gaga inspired makeup idea etc...
