My Husband's 30!

On Tuesday my Husband celebrated his 30th Birthday. It's crazy to think I've known him since he was 21 and look at him now hitting the big 30. This man is my rock and I'm so thankful for him and his love.

Since I had still been recovering from my surgery I decided to get crafty and make the majority of his Birthday surprises. I made a shabby chic Happy Birthday banner, card, and a book with 30 Reason's why I love him. I also got him a few little Under Armour surprises. I decorated everything the night before so when he woke up for work he would see it all.

He loved his new Under Armour goodies. That evening we went to Red Lobster for dinner. It was yummy. We headed home and lit the candles on his Birthday cake. The same cake we had at our Wedding and on my Birthday. I think this will be a tradition. =)

Our pup Penny also shares her Birthday with her Daddy. She turned 7! Gosh she's such a grown up! She got an extra large rawhide bone and a new toy! The bone was hit!

A Superhero and a Princess - Some Things I'm Loving!

I decided to try a link up for the first time via Katie Did What. It's a Saturday series in which she and others talk about things they've been loving in the last week. Sounds fun to me, so here we go!

Fun Presents: My husband got me these cute Thor and Ariel figures this week. Love! I'm a big nerd, and it was the sweetest thing that he got these for me.

My Hubby: My husband has been amazingly awesome this last month while I've been recovering from my appendectomy. I couldn't ask for a more caring, loving man! He turns 30 on Tuesday so I've been doing some fun prep for that while he's been at work this week. I can't wait for him to see everything!

Sketching: I haven't done any in a while and decided that needed to change. I had some Little Mermaid inspiration, and loved the outcome. I need to draw more!

Work: I don't want to say much yet, but I've been very blessed with a new opportunity. This is what I had been waiting for and I'm so grateful that others support me and think I'm good at what I do. I love being a photographer and I can't wait to get back at it!

That's all for now! Thanks for reading!

Weekend Wrap Up: 4th of July Edition

Last week was the first time I was able to start getting around post surgery. It was nice to get out of the house. I had a follow up with my surgeon and he was pleased with how things were going. Its been a slow process, but things get better day by day.

My Husband took me to see fireworks on the 4th of July and I was so excited. It was a fun night. I've always liked the 4th and fireworks. It's a holiday I have fond memories of.

My Festive 4th Outfit:
Top- Target
Bottoms- Crimson Tribal Exuma Pants from Boca Leche
Sandals(not that you can see them)- Target

On Sunday the Hubby and I had a busy day. We went to Church with friends which was fun. Then we shopped a little and I got a smoothie from DQ that matched my skirt perfectly haha. I also got a few early Birthday gifts for my Hubby. (He turns 30 next week!) We then we to see Despicable Me 2 later in the afternoon with friends. It was so cute! To round out our evening we went to a Birthday dinner for another friend and her Husband. She is expecting and is just so cute. I love hearing about all of it!
I was totally wiped out after all of that. I haven't had such an eventful day in a while. It's a bit rough on the belly so I'll take it easy this week.

I can't wait for this movie! (This is also my only ootd. If I turned to the side I looked pregnant from bloating and swelling. I'm ready for that to go away haha.)

Minion Inspiration!

I'm a sucker for those little minions in Despicable Me. We made plans to see Despicable Me 2 over the weekend so I decided why not try my hand at a little minion nail art. I only did accent nails, but I was more that pleased with the outcome. They are totally cute!

Minion Nail Art: China Glaze Solar Power, Orly High on Hope, OPI Solitaire, Orly Iron Butterfly, Essie Blanco

I wore KBShimmer's White Noise on my other nails. Its a white base with various pastel glitter. Super pretty.

4th of July Nails!

I ordered KBShimmer's Pimp my Pride because I thought that would be the perfect 4th of July manicure. I decided that I would try my hand at nail art with this manicure too. Just an accent nail though.

Pimp my Pride is fantastic. 2 coats with wonderful coverage. My accent nail is a smattering of different polishes. My base was 2 layers of Orly's High on Hope with a coat of Revlon's Heavenly in between. This would resemble the sky. I then used a dotting tool to make a firework exploding from the base of my nail with OPI's Solitaire. I added some colorful glitter with NOPI's Confetti Fun.

I'm so pleased with how this turned out! I love watching fireworks so this was perfect for me and so festive for Independence Day!

Now here are a million pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Mint Candy Apple

I'm back with another quick post. I was bored and somehow chipped a nail. I can't do a whole lot so why not change my polish. My pretty accent nails in Orly's Sparkling Garbage were holding up nicely so I just changed the color on my other nails. This was my first time using Essie's Mint Candy Apple. A polish that is a minty blue green. I like this combo, but not as much as the last one. I won't be wearing it long anyway as I'm already planning my 4th of July mani. =)
