Bama Bound

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year.

I spent a lot of time in the car yesterday in a 300 mile trek to Birmingham, Alabama. I went to see my USC Gamecocks take on UCONN at the PapaJohn.com Bowl. Wow what a ride. Not a lot to look at in Bama that's for sure. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot to look at on the football field either. The Gamecocks lost 20 to 7. Scoring their lone TD in the final minutes. It was a pathetic excuse for a game on our part. I froze my arse off in the 30 degree temps. Over 30,000 plus Gamecocks showed up and packed Legion Stadium only to be disappointed by our team. Did they care? I don't think so. Did they want it? Not really.

UCONN ate us up. Congrats to them for an incredibly well played game. Well deserved win on their part. They cared, and they were ready.

I must say I was only a little upset about the loss initially. You saw it coming within the first couple plays of the game. But, when I hear stories about our players getting drunk on their first night in Birmingham and saying I don't give a shit about this game and the rest of you shouldn't either, it made my blood boil. I traveled 600 miles overall, and you bastards didn't care! You deserve a good ass kicking. Too many dropped balls, awful play calling, I mean geezz. Don't blame the cold either, because those UCONN boys were out there without sleeves catching everything thrown at them. I know Steve Spurrier isn't the best coach out there when it comes to believing in his players and standing behind them, but don't play hard for him, play hard for the fans who do believe in you. If I keep hearing about this not giving a shit attitude then I certainly won't be giving my money to watch you boys play again. If you don't give a shit why are you there, and why should I watch you play?

Anyway, I enjoyed my trip to Alabama to an extent because I had never been there. However this post will never begin to show the anger I have about this piss poor football game. I'm a Gamecock through and through, and damn it we deserved better than that!

Ok on to some pictures. My mani was Ruby Pumps on all fingers and Goth on my ring finger with USC decals.

All of us Gamecocks heading out of Birmingham. The traffic was awful. They weren't ready for us.

Dinner.

Thanks for reading. Beauty posts coming soon!

How Crazy is this???

If you live in the state of South Carolina you know that biggest game of the season will be played this Saturday. I'm talking Carolina vs. Clemson. It's down here in Columbia this year. And of course it's an afternoon start. (Go Cocks!)

Would you like to know why it's an afternoon start?

One name, Miley Cyrus.

She is performing that evening at the Colonial Life Arena. Thus they moved the game time to the afternoon to accommodate her show. I seriously doubt many game goers were going to care about Miley Cyrus and her concert. It's caused quite a bit of commotion around here though. Just thinking that she could have an impact on football game times is insane!

Not only that but she has also made special arrangements with the Publix downtown near the arena. She called ahead and requested her own register, cashier and bagger reserved so she won't have to wait in line. So I'm saying this now. If you want to see Miley Cyrus head down to the Vista Publix in Columbia and hang. (All this info coming from an inside source.)

Just thought I would share the impact that Miley Cyrus has on our little world...

My Gamecocks...

Today my South Carolina Gamecocks went down 24-14 against the #1 Florida Gators. Ouch. It was such a good game unfortunately the 4th quarter went down hill as soon as it began. It's hard to see such a talented group of guys play so hard and not be able to finish. If you know anything about Gamecock football I'm sure you've heard a lot of fans are ready to see Coach Steve Spurrier retire. Sometimes I don't think his coaching style really benefits the players of this era. As my friend Jamon said, "Positive attitude brings positive results... Being negative all the time gets you beat!!!" He played for 4 years under Spurrier and is currently the starting offensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills. We talked a little after the game. He would know better than anyone what goes on in Spurrier land, and what players just don't respond to. Anyway rough day for us Gamecocks. Off week next week, and then on to our final regular season game against our Rival Clemson. Let's hope for a win fellow Gamecocks...

I'm gonna plug Jamon. Check him out as the Bills take on the Titans tomorrow on CBS @ 1pm. I've know this guy since we were kids. He's a good man and talented football player.

And so this post isn't totally picture-less I'm pulling one out of the vault. Here is Jamon and myself at our Senior Prom many many moons ago. Don't hate... lol

Moving on. Hopefully I'll have some new pictures etc. up soon. Unfortunately my computer and I aren't getting along right now, and I can't edit them. Ahhh!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Fall, Fall, Fall...

Fall for Greenville. A local festive fall thing going on this weekend...

I attended last night with my bestie and her bf and a few others. It was a lot of fun. Loooootts of food and people. We sat down to eat at Wild Wings at 8 and didn't finish until 10. Ugh. Overall it was a fun event just super crowded!

Now moving forward. I watched my USC Gamecocks play Kentucky and I'm thrilled to say we are now 5-1. It wasn't a pretty game, but I'm glad we won. I'm a proud Alumna of the University of South Carolina. Mind you, the REAL USC!

Of course like most of the country I'm watching the Florida vs. LSU game and I'm totally pulling for the Gators. Gotta love Tim Tebow, right?

Nighty night...
