London PixieDust

I picked up London during the the 3 free promo by Zoya. I hadn't tried their textured polish yet and I figured this would be a good start. London is a nice grey with silver glitter. It has a great formula and this was 2 easy coats. It dried fairly quickly and isn't overly gritty. Which is how I prefer my textured polishes. The first two photos are in it's regular state. The last is with topcoat. I've had a thing for grey lately so I think it's quite lovely.

Christmas is in the air. Oh and I'm back...

I have severely neglected this blog. It makes me a little sad. My life has been all over the place since I last posted. Now I'm trying my hardest to get things back together. Anyway, I don't want to harp on those things right now because I've got a fun Christmas themed nail post for you all that still may read this little old blog.

I used Zoya's Karina and Suvi with a dash of Orly's Halo on my ring fingers. Now get ready for some picture spam!

Its so festive without stepping into the nail art territory. Nothing against nail art because I adore it. I've just never been one to pull that kind of thing off.

(And if you're interested my ring is by maryscabinet on Etsy! Love it.)

Thanks for reading. Hopefully I'll have a couple of more Christmas themes manicures to come!

Zoya's LC

I recently acquired Zoya's LC. I have a thing for reds. I decided to paint my nails and jam out to some music yesterday because I was in a funk. This certainly made me happier. It's such a unique red that has a coral/dusty hint to it. The best part for me 1 coat! Now that's fabulous.

New favorite. I think so. Let's hope it lasts through a long weekend of shooting baseball. (Did I forget to mention? Carolina Baseball is back!)

Also today is my Dad's 52nd Birthday! So Happy Birthday Daddy!

Thanks for stopping by!

Zoya's Kimmy

Another new post man I'm on a roll. Haha. Today I'm wearing Zoya's Kimmy from the Sunshine Collection Summer 2011. I've had a handful of polishes from this collection and only wore 1 last year. I decided to pull them out today.

Kimmy is a cherry red with gold sparkle. I'm not big on gold but this is gorgeous. Very fiery. I used 2 coats. (Photos are in the shade as I tried to take direct sunlight photos but there was too much glare with all that sparkle.)

For the last several months I've either been drawn to neutrals/sheers or reds. So this is right up my alley.

Get Your Green On Special by Zoya

Just a quick post. I received my Get Your Green On polishes from Zoya today. Very excited about it since I don't own many green polishes. That and I can wear one on St. Patrick's Day. I'm Irish/Scottish so I really enjoy St. Patrick's Day. Not the drinking part, but actually celebrating my heritage. I'll actually be celebrating my heritage at the dentist that day though. Haha.

Anyway here are some bottle pics of Ivanka, Shawn, and Suvi. Swatches to come.

Zoya Polish Spam...

I wanted to make this quick. I haven't been feeling well at all, but I need something to distract myself. Here are the 3 Free Zoya's my Mom got. I think they came on Monday. She even got my namesake Katie. Well, they spell it Katy but that's neither here nor there haha.

So here are Katy, Gigi, and Luna.

Pretty. =)

I really want to get Zoya's Gemma from the new Spring Collection. I'm generally not a green polish wearer because it makes my hands look really red depending on the shade, but Gemma is just gorgeous!

It seems like I've gotten a lot of polish in the past week. I don't know what to wear. My nails are naked, but I haven't been up for painting them anyway...

Zoya's Jade and Some Babble...

Hello everyone! I feel like I haven't posted in so long. It was a busy weekend for me. As I said last post I was the Second Shooter at a Wedding on Saturday. I was on my feet for a solid 4 1/2 hours. It was lots of fun and beautiful all around.

I decided to wear Zoya's Jade for the weekend. I love a good sparkly red. Red is one of my go to colors in times of doubt. Zoya describes Jade as "Bright red glitter in a translucent crimson red base." Its really beautiful. I did 2 coats. I probably could have done 3 as there was a bit of VNL. If my nails had been shorter it wouldn't have been a problem, actually it wasn't a problem anyway haha.

So here is the beauty that is Jade:

I feel like I didn't take enough adequate shots of this beauty. There just wasn't enough time.

And here is a random shot of me photographing something at the venue. You can see my thumb clad in Jade. Haha.

After the full day of Wedding Shooting, the following day we traveled to see a dear friend's new baby girl. Goodness she was adorable, and how I love that new baby smell. It will be fun to watch her grow up.

My body was in a considerable amount of pain after being so active. (Mind you I have fibromyalgia, among other issues.) So I rested up on Monday. Then I had an Eye Doctor Appt. on Tuesday. Come to find out my distant vision has gotten worse, and I needed a new prescription. I also got stuff for my dry eye which I was excited about. Anyhow, I picked new frames and they are super cute. So in 7 to 10 days I'll show them off. Hehe.

Thanks for reading everyone, and I'd like to extend a warm welcome to any new followers!

Zoya's Harley

I had been lemming this color for quite some time. I adore gray, and this one looked special. Once I got a spoon of it I knew it would be mine. I picked Harley as part of my 3 Free during the promotion.

I decided to wear it first out of the 3 I had picked because I just loved it so. Zoya's website describes it as "Light concrete gray base with subtle flecks of silver, gold and copper shimmer." The darker gray and copper flecks of shimmer are what stood out to me most. It makes this gray unique.

I put this on last Thursday evening (1/6/11) I decided to do a wear test since I had also bought Anchor and Armor. The formula on Harley is wonderful. So easy to apply. I only used 2 coats, and of course a coat of Anchor and Armor.

Here are the pictures (I'll caption them by day.)

The first three photos are from the first day. (Thursday)
Sunday 1/9/11 (Left hand)
Sunday 1/9/11 (Right Hand) At this point I had gone to a Music Video Shoot, went shopping and tried on lots of pants etc...
Monday 1/10/11 I had my first chip on my left thumb. I'm not really sure when it happened. Otherwise very minimal tip wear.
Tuesday 1/11/11 Still very minimal tip wear and the chip on my thumb got a bit bigger. It snowed Sunday night through Monday and I had done lots of playing in the snow etc. at this point.
Wednesday 1/12/11 - Thumb chip a bit bigger and tip wear a bit more noticeable.

So my verdict: This is an awesome polish and the length of time I went without a single chip was amazing! I'm very pleased with Anchor and Armor. They've done a fantastic job. I'm really happy I decided to purchase them. You can bet more times than not that's what I'll be using!

I'll be taking off this polish today and switching to something different. I'll be the Second Shooter AKA Photographer at a wedding this weekend and I'll be wearing all black. I think I may pop it with some red a la Zoya's Jade. We'll see.

I hope this has been a helpful post. Have you tried Anchor and Armor? Do you want to?

Zoya Intimate Spring 2011 Collection Spoons!

I received the Intimate Spring Collection 2011 spoons last week. I know many others are probably getting these as well. No harm in posting them though just in case you don't have them. There are some pretty colors in this collection.

From top to bottom: Gemma, Jules, Dannii, Caitlin, Dove, and Marley

I love the blue flash in Gemma. I also love Caitlin, but I love blues in general! Overall this collection looks like a win for me. A little something for everyone.

*Disregard those stray dog hairs in the first picture. Hey with 5 dogs around it's bound to happen. Hehe.

Zoya's 3 Free-What I got.

So, by now everyone knows Zoya had their 3 free promotion for hitting 20,000 likes on Facebook. Last week they put out a code so you could get your pick of 3 polishes. Zoya had a lot of traffic to the site which I know caused issues for many. It's expected in promotions like this though. I for one am grateful to Zoya for doing wonderful things like this. I was lucky and got my order in without issue and it came within 2 days.

Last Thursday I opened my box of pretties. (I know I should have had this up sooner.) I had also ordered part of the color lock system- Anchor and Armor.

So I'm sure you are ready to see what I got. Well, here they are:

Kotori, Harley, and Jade. Such wonderful colors.

And here is a sneek peek of an up coming post about Harley:

So what Zoya's did you pick up?

Peep the stash.

Zoya's Ivy

Ok, so I've had Zoya's Ivy sitting in my polish stash for quite a while. I've admired the color and sparkle but really never found the time to use it or wear it.
I was sans nail polish today because I was painting. And acrylic on top of polish has bad news written all over it. After I showered and had fresh clean nails I finally decided to use Ivy.

It dried fairly quickly and the color was exquisite. A nice berry red (bluer tones) with a gold shimmer. I used 2 coats and then a top coat of Barielle Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender. Application was great!

Now peep the pictures.
